TALIJA Folk Dance Group featuring ROSA

Presented by the Cambridge Global Arts, Inc.

Friday, Oct 31 2014 7:00 pm

The extraordinary dancers from Traditional Serbian Folk Dance Group TALIJA are coming to Boston this fall!

Kick off your Halloween night with TALIJA, the amazing dancers, food and drinks!

Featuring 25 dancers and 5 musicians, TALIJA Folk Dance Group (http://www.talija.rs/en/) represents Serbian, Balkan, Slavic, and Eastern European cultures through highly energetic dance performances all over the world. Talija seeks to combine the refinement and subtlety found in the northern parts of Eastern Europe with the excitement of highly rhythmic dances found across the oriental south.

This evening-long performance, created by Artistic Director and choreographer Dragan Pantelic takes audiences on an exciting journey, combining the authenticity of traditional dance with the bold acrobatics and ingenious artistry of the exotic costumes dancers wear on the stage. During the performance the dance company will be supported by live, virtuoso orchestra and Traditional Vocal Group ROSA.

Traditional Vocal Group ROSA is a New York based, international a cappella group. This all-female vocal ensemble unites singers from 3 different continents with a mission to preserve the authentic form of traditional, non-tempered singing from Serbia.

Post-show reception will be held in the BU Dance Theater Lobby after the performance. Beer, wine, soft drinks and food will be served.
